amazing Basque cuisine restaurant located on a very quiet street almost in front of Museum of Fine Arts on the right bank of Bilbao city, was discovered by occasion and chosen by feng shui, loved it immediately, had dinner here three times and all of them were superb, every single dish is delicious, menu is not that big but full of fish and seafood dishes while meat is also presented, wide varieties and combinations of super tasty ingredients, everything is fresh and very well cooked, thanks to chef who made it so great, wine card is quite large with plenty of choices of very good local wines, service is welcoming, friendly and pleasant (while found that I don't eat meat they always had brought me an appetizer based on seafood and vegetables only), don't miss this place when you're in the city.
Mediterranean cuisine restaurant in Bilbao center on modern city side, located on a quiet side street around Plaza Moyua, large menu with lots of fish varieties, cheese and vegetable plates, food is of a good quality, fried squid is a catch, special vegetarian menu, wine card is pretty small based mainly on Spanish wines, nice interior design made in Greek style, fast and pleasant service, fully packed with locals on Saturday's lunch time.
typical local place in Bilbao center with pintxos bar in the first room and restaurant in the backrooms, seems a bit touristic, menu mainly made of meat plates is quite limited as choice of wines, service is rather slow and not that much attentive.
very nice food market located in old part of Bilbabo city just right on the riverside in old fish markets area, first floor is a market itself where you can buy fresh products, fish and vegetables (and ask to cook it on the upper floor), second floor is dedicated to gastronomic space with teeny tiny pintxos places, a la cart bars and drink lounges, cozy outside terrace, jazz concerts and dancing events all this made this place super cool, must visit though.
old traditional farm rebuilt as bed&breakfast with restaurant and bar, very nice place for taking a brake before or after hiking to San Juan de Gastelugatxe church on the teeny tiny island, have a lunch in the restaurant or just glass of wine with tasty pintxos on the outside terrace with breathtaking views to stunning Atlantic Ocean, espeically on a sunny day.
good welcoming place with spectacular view to beautiful small dunes of Laida beach in Urdaibai biosferic park, outside terrace could be great on a hot sunny day and panoramic windows let you enjoy the nature with your glass of wine comfortable from inside even if it's rainy, good pintxos bar, friendly service, calm and quiet place to stop while driving around the area.
the best places to eat when you're on the ocean are of course in fisherman's villages right in the port and May Flower is exactly such place, located right in the heart of teeny tiny historical fisherman's village Getaira, guys there cook fresh seafood which was caught in the morning and bought right from the fishermen, amazing cooking on open grill, grilled fish is a killer, excellent rich fish soup, good wine, nice service, an outside terrace with great views is no mistake, highly recommended.
tiny pintxos bar in the old town in San Sebastian, just bar counter, two small tables and TV, seems that the owner keep this business only for himself to be able always have a place for hanging out with his friends with a glass of wine and couple of tapas watching a football game, nice bar though, cozy and authentic, very old like the whole old part of the town, tapas are of a good quality, prices are a bit high.
lovely place, awesome pintxos bar in the heart of San Sebastian's old town, enormous choice of super delicious tapas, all are made of perfect quality, seafood, fish, meat, vegetables, cheeses there is anything you could imagine tapas can be done with, spacious with quite comfortable bar tables, good background music and nice friendly atmosphere, very well done wine list, prices are really good (surprisingly not high for such great quality), pleasant service, never miss it, absolutely recommended.
great place, classic pintxos bar located on the busiest gastronomic street of San Sebastian's old town just nearby the church, the bar was opened in 1942 and has almost 80 years history, the whole room is kind of only ten meters long with some tables inside and outside, very welcoming and kind atmosphere presenting perfectly traditional Basque's food culture with a modern touch, good selection of wines, highly recommended for sure.
