2019 #Porto | Cathedrals of the city
Updated: Jan 8, 2020
Porto is a very old city, so there are many basilicas and they are fantastic. To see them you just need to walk around the city checking on your googlemap what #cathedral are you passing by. It’s hard to say which one is the most beautiful as they’re all amazing. Here you can find a bit about just a part of them which I was able to catch up in two days.
St.Nicolas is located just on the right at Palacio De La Bolsa, nearby the Cais do Ribeira.
Igreja da Misericórdia is normally closed for public, but I was lucky to get in during the Sunday morning mass together with local Porto’s residents.
Making photos inside is restricted (you can just believe me the interior is awesome) and outside between main entrance and internal doors, it looks super stylish.
Igreja de Santo António dos Congregados, no surprises azulejo is here again. This nice church is located on the same square with #SãoBento railway station. No photo&video inside is the rule for small churches here where city’s inabitants come to pray.
Igreja Paroquial de Santo Ildefonso potentially could be the winner, very atmospheric place #onelove
Se do Porto (main city’s cathedral) is huge and I didn’t like it that much. Looks just like any other catholic church, nothing special. Yes, you’re right, there is no azulejo on it.
