    2019 #Piemonte | Ceretto winery, Alba

Actually I was not able to fix an appointment in advance to visit the cellars of Ceretto, as my schedule was completely full and we didn't find the dates matching our both sides. But I was kindly proposed to come to taste their #wines any day (tasting room is open everyday from morning till evening), once I had a free time on Sunday afternoon and would love to stay in a nice quiet place, then I drove up from Barolo towards Alba to visit tasting room of Ceretto. Absolutely rig

    2019 #Piemonte | Ettore Germano winery, Serralunga d'Alba

Ettore Germano is one of the must visit estates in Barolo area. Actually I planned it a long time in advance, but, as it happens sometimes, at one day the things go in a different way, not like you planned them. That particular Saturday was exactly like this, when everything was late, starting from morning and ending up in the evening. By some reasons I was almost an hour late to Ettore Germano #winery and missed an interesting part cellars, so I arrived just on time for wine

2019 #Piemonte | Renato Ratti winery, La Morra

The name Renato Ratti means a lot for whole Barolo production area. He was one of the pioneers in Barolo who really appreciated and promoted terroir concept, trying to change and turn local people's old-fashioned mind into this direction. The story of himself and his estate is fascinating, so visiting Renato Ratti winery is a must do when you are in #Barolo zone. Renato Ratti was born in Piemonte in 1934, he had no heritage of wine estate in the area, he built himself from th

2019 #Piemonte | Marchesi di Barolo winery, Barolo

Marchesi di Barolo is a winery with 200 years long history, one of the oldest estates in Langhe, Piemonte, whose historical cellars are located right in the center of Barolo town. As I lived just about hundred meters from them, it was an obvious choice in my list of visits. Moreover, my friend from Barolo, who is an ex-sommelier recommended me this winery as they produce a really good wines. By the way, can you imagine producers of not good Barolo here? Yes, actually there ar

    2019 #Piemonte | Oddero winery, La Morra

One of the most famous families producers of Barolo in Piemonte is definitely Oddero, a family with over a century of viticultural traditions, whose winery is located in the northern part of Langhe, in La Morra area. Visiting them was a great experience, which I would like to repeat with pleasure, once I'm again in the zone. The winery is located in a picturesque place Santa Maria village, surrounded by vineyards on the hills of La Morra. The estate owns 35 hectares of vineya
